About the Role
We are seeking a Communications Intern who is curious, people-oriented, and passionate about storytelling. The role will involve engaging directly with beneficiaries, documenting experiences, and turning them into compelling narratives across formats. Strong writing and documentation skills are essential, while design capabilities will be considered a significant advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct interviews and conversations with beneficiaries, and stakeholders to capture authentic stories.
- Document stories and events in clear, concise, and engaging formats (articles, short write-ups, social media captions, case studies, etc.).
- Support the creation of internal and external communication material.
- Assist in building and maintaining an archive of stories, photographs, and other content assets.
- Collaborate with the communications team to generate fresh ideas for content.
- Support in designing visual content such as social media posts, presentations, or reports using tools like Photoshop, Illustrator, Premier Pro, Canva, or similar.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (ongoing or completed) in Communications, Journalism, English, Liberal Arts, Media Studies, Public Relations, or related fields.
- Candidates from Design, Fine Arts, or related disciplines with strong writing skills are also encouraged to apply.
Desired Skills & Competencies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (knowledge of regional languages like Telugu and Hindi is a plus).
- Strong interviewing and documentation abilities, comfortable talking to people and drawing out stories.
- Ability to write across formats: from short social media copy to long-form articles.
- Good organizational skills to manage multiple stories and deadlines.
- Familiarity with design tools (Adobe Suite, Canva, Figma, etc.) is a significant plus.
- Creativity, attention to detail, and eagerness to learn.
