Electrical & Controls Engineer
Food Manufacturing
Location:
Hyattsville, MD
If you enjoy being the person everyone turns to when things get complex, when a line goes down, when a system needs redesigning, or when an idea needs turning into something real, this role will feel like home. Because here, electrical and controls engineering is not a support function. It is the backbone of how the site runs, grows, and modernises.
This is a manufacturing environment that is continually investing in improvement. New projects. New automation. New ways to make operations safer, smarter, and more reliable. They are looking for someone who can take ownership of those initiatives from concept through to execution, shaping how electrical design, controls integration, and safety systems evolve across the facility.
You will lead projects that touch every part of the plant. That means working closely with operations, maintenance, safety, and external partners to design systems that are robust, compliant, scalable, and built for the future. You will create the drawings, the logic, the specifications, and the architecture that bring a project to life, and you will see it through to installation, testing, and handover.
Just as important is the problem solving. You will be the person who can walk into a challenge, understand it quickly, diagnose the issue, and chart a path forward. Whether it is an equipment failure, a controls fault, an electrical protection question, or an opportunity to optimise how the plant operates, you will play a central role in making sure the site runs safely and efficiently.
You will also be a teacher. Someone who can help maintenance and operations teams understand electrical requirements, safety expectations, and best practices. Someone who can translate complex engineering into clear direction. Someone who raises the capability around them.
To enjoy this role, you will likely have experience in manufacturing, industrial environments, or similar settings where electrical systems and automation are critical to daily operation. You will know your codes, your schematics, your PLCs, and how to manage projects with discipline and clarity. If you have worked in food and beverage before, that is helpful but not essential.
If you want to be part of a site that is growing, modernising, and genuinely values strong engineering leadership, let’s have a confidential conversation.
