Position SummaryThe Category Analyst lll is responsible for analyzing and interpreting data to provide actionable insights and recommendations. This role involves executing plans that align with and support the broader strategy and objectives of the department. The Category Analyst works closely with key stakeholders to ensure that data-driven decisions are implemented effectively, and they play a pivotal role in driving business outcomes.

- Operational Excellence: Curate distinctive, customer centric assortment; capture and communicate insights to the appropriate stakeholders; provide data driven recommendations to identify key points and opportunities that lead to meaningful and relevant conclusions; take on stretch assignments outside of day-to-day and desk specific responsibility; support continuous improvement and knowledge sharing; provide advanced-level recognition & adapt to and changing situations, providing creative solutions to achieve desired results.
- Planning and Execution: Create meaningful and engaging omnichannel promotions to author Giant's featured assortment; forecast promotional activities and plans in alignment with departmental budget; use insights to develop strategies which anticipate changes in the marketplace; identify pricing & promotion tactics to gain significant & substantial competitive advantage at a mastery level; identify areas for gaining significant & substantial competitive advantage through product development initiatives at a mastery level;
provide training, onboarding support, and contributive feedback as a leader amongst peers.
- 3-5 years of analytical experience in a retail and/or consumer packaged goods role
- Bachelor's degree in business or related field
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, Power BI, PPT, Word)
- Balances workload and priorities
- Proven success with analytical interpretation of complex data sets
- Effective and concise communication and presentation skills
- Precise attention to detail
- Negotiation ability
- Exposure to syndicated/competitive data (e.g. Nielsen, Circana/IRI)
- Experience with accounting terminology and understanding of profit and loss (P&L) concepts, including the ability to analyze financial statements and apply these principles in various business scenarios.
Salary: $80,925-$107,900
The pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include responsibilities of the role, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data and applicable law. LocationThis position will be on-site at the Giant Food Headquarters in Hyattsville, MD.
