Full Stack Engineer

Location:
Hutto, Texas (On-site, 5 days/week with limited flexibility)

We're a small, investor-backed startup building innovative software solutions in a fast-paced environment. Our core engineering efforts are led by a tight-knit team, and we're looking to bring on a talented full-stack developer to help scale and enhance our existing platform. Most of the foundational code is already in place — this role is about taking ownership, building new features, and driving meaningful progress without heavy operations or Dev Ops burdens.

This is a contract-to-hire opportunity, starting as a contractor with a clear path to full-time employment based on performance and fit.

• Build and extend features on a modern full-stack application using Kotlin and Spring Boot on the backend.
• Develop responsive, user-facing interfaces with React (or similar frameworks like Vue).
• Collaborate closely with a small team to deliver high-quality code and iterate quickly.
• Take strong ownership of tasks — from design through implementation — in a startup where your contributions have immediate impact.
• Focus purely on development (no ops, infrastructure, or production support responsibilities).

We're open to mid-level (5–6+ years) or senior-level (7–8+ years) candidates who are self-starters and comfortable in small startup environments.

• Strong proficiency in Kotlin and Spring Boot (Java experience is a plus).
• Experience with relational databases like MariaDB (or MySQL/Postgre
  
  SQL equivalents).
• Proven track record in small teams or startups where you've worn multiple hats and delivered independently.
• Ability to thrive with high ownership and minimal hand-holding.

• Experience in any modern JS frameworks/ecosystems adjacent to React/Vue.
• Comfort working in a compact codebase that's ready for expansion.
• Competitive pay based on experience: ~$90k–$130k (mid-level) or ~$120k–$160k (senior-level) annualized equivalent.
• Contract-to-hire structure (we'll discuss W2 options, rates, and conversion timeline during the process).

• Full-time, on-site in Hutto, TX (occasional remote for one-off situations, but in‑office is the expectation).
