Position Summary:
Supports daily operations within the machine shop and coordinates outside processing activities in a semiconductor manufacturing environment. Ensures parts move efficiently through internal and external production stages while maintaining accurate documentation, clear communication, and adherence to quality and delivery standards.
- Manage and track parts sent to and received from outside processing vendors (e.g., plating, anodizing, heat treating, cleaning).
- Prepare and issue purchase orders, shipping documents, and vendor packets.
- Monitor vendor performance and turnaround times to ensure on-time delivery.
- Maintain accurate logs, certifications, and documentation for traceability and compliance.
- Communicate with vendors regarding order status, quality issues, and delivery schedules.
- Provide administrative assistance to the Machine Shop Supervisor in scheduling, job prioritization, and work order tracking.
- Update ERP/MRP systems with job status, material movement, and processing data.
- Assist in generating and maintaining production reports, work orders, and inspection documentation.
- Support shop floor organization, inventory tracking, and job documentation control.
- Coordinate with Quality, Purchasing, and Planning departments to resolve production or vendor-related issues.
- Answer and route internal and external communications promptly and professionally.
- Assist with document control, filing, and data entry.
- Support continuous improvement and efficiency initiatives within the machine shop.
- Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or higher preferred. - Experience:
Minimum 2–3 years of administrative and manufacturing support experience, preferably in a machine shop or semiconductor manufacturing environment. - Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
- Understanding manufacturing documentation and quality requirements is a plus.
- Office and production floor environment.
- Regular interaction with production staff, engineers, vendors, and management.
- Must be able to stand, walk, or move between departments as needed.
