The Principal of HVA will be a pioneering leader responsible for launching and scaling a high-quality, flexible Texas public virtual high school. This role requires an "entrepreneurial educator" who can define the academy's national relevance and create a structured yet flexible environment for elite athletes, performing artists, student entrepreneurs, and families seeking an alternative to traditional campuses. The Principal will direct and manage instructional programs and supervise operations and personnel, provide leadership to ensure high standards of instructional service, and oversee compliance with state and district policies, the success of instructional programs, and the operation of all campus activities.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
- Master's degree in educational administration
- Texas principal or other appropriate Texas certificate
- Advanced Education Leadership (AEL) certification, Instructional Leadership Training (ILT), or Instructional Leadership Development (ILD)
Special Knowledge/
Skills:
- Working knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Ability to evaluate instructional program and teaching effectiveness in virtual and in-person settings.
- Ability to manage budget and personnel
- Ability to coordinate campus functions
- Ability to implement policy and procedures
- Ability to interpret data
- Strong organizational, communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills
Experience:
- Two or more years' experience as a classroom teacher
- Two or more years' experience in instructional leadership roles
