- The 2026 salary range for this position is $17.74 to $26.60 per hour depending on experience.
- Applicants without relevant experience should expect to start at $17.74/hr.
Duties listed are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
Position Duties- Assist with surveying and materials testing of highway projects.
- Assist with inspection of various highway construction projects.
- Assist Sign Technician in the replacement or installation of highway signs.
- Assist maintenance staff with various activities; including, but not limited to: making signs, flagging, patching, cleaning bridges, vegetation control, shop maintenance, etc.
- Perform job related duties as assigned or apparent.
- Must be 18 years of age.
- Valid Minnesota driver’s license with proof of insurance.
- College education or training in a related field (Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology, etc.).
- Previous experience in highway construction and/or maintenance activities.
- Desk work involving use of a computer, telephone, and other devices.
- Communicate effectively with County staff and the public.
- Ability to read screens and documents.
- Ability to drive in various light and weather conditions.
- Ability to type and use a computer or mobile device.
- Lift and carry material weighing up to 50 pounds.
