ResponsibilitiesThis position is responsible for maintaining and repairing Reno County Solid Waste Management equipment, including heavy equipment and light-duty vehicles, to ensure safe and reliable operation. Duties include performing diagnostics, routine maintenance, welding, tire repairs, and assisting with methane and environmental systems, while maintaining accurate records and a safe work environment. The position also manages parts inventory, coordinates outside repairs, and completes preventative maintenance documentation.
Work is performed under direction of a Solid Waste Operations Supervisor or Department Director.

- Must have a high school diploma or GED
- Minimum of 4 years experience in diesel mechanics field preferred.
- Employee is responsible for obtaining and maintaining all certification and licensing requirements relative to the position.
- Possess a valid Kansas driver’s license when reporting for duty and a class B-CDL driver's license as necessary.
- Completion of a recognized Diesel Mechanics certification program is strongly preferred.
