Sports Facilities Management, LLC manages this position as part of our nationwide sports facilities network.
Position SummaryThe Aquatics Lead will be responsible for overseeing and managing the City's Learn to Swim program, including the team of Swim Instructors, ensuring the delivery of high-quality swim lessons to individuals of varying ages and skill levels in a safe and supportive environment.
Primary Responsibilities- Assists all responsibilities relative to aquatics programming including swim lessons and other programs
- Assists in training, and provides guidance to the team of Swim Instructors
- Assists with lifeguard team member performance evaluations
- Develops surveys and methods of distribution for evaluations of programs and services
- Assists the Aquatics Manager with requests for equipment usage and facility space with the General Manager
- Assists with scheduling, supervising and recruitment of lifeguards
- Coordinate schedules, allocate resources, and assign classes to Swim Instructors efficiently.
- Conducts meetings with lifeguards and participants (i.e. in-service training and Learn to Swim program)
- Conduct regular evaluations of lesson plans, instructional methods, and student progress to maintain program quality.
- Ensure the implementation of effective teaching methodologies, safety protocols, and lesson delivery techniques by Swim Instructors.
- Assists with daily cleaning and maintenance of all pool areas
- Provides excellent customer service to guests and team members
- Completes other duties as assigned by management
- Current American Red Cross certification in Lifeguard Training, Water Safety Instructor, Lifeguard Instructor, CPR-PR and First Aid Instructor, or equivalent are all preferred
- 2-4 years of supervision experience in an aquatics center
- Current Certified Pool Operator certification (will provide training and certification for a candidate that does not have it)
- Experience and success in delivering excellent customer service
- Action-oriented personality with a 'get it done' attitude and proficiency for efficiency
- The ability to thrive in a team environment
- Requires excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Must be detail-oriented and have outstanding organizational skills
- Must be able to work under pressure and be decisive
- Must be a strong swimmer
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds waist high
- May be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time whether indoors or outdoors, and squat, stoop, or bend
- Will be exposed to outside temperatures
- Could be exposed to cleaning chemicals
- Facilities have intermittent noise
