Fabrication Shop Manager

We have been retained to find one of our custom process automation clients a Fabrication Shop Manager.

This position has a focus on processing jobs through the fabrication shop while also managing:

• 6 fabricators / Welders
• 3 Polishers
• Project Workflow
• Materials
• Inventory
• Equipment
• Tools
• Manage projects from start to finish handling design work, material acquisition, fabrication, machining, and quality control.
• Lead draftsmen and designers using CAD/CAM and Solid Works ensuring products fit needs of customers (You do not have to be proficient in either but must have a working knowledge and some experience on both AND be willing to become proficient.
• Develop production schedules and coordinate workflow.
• Analyze fabrication data and production metrics using Excel to improve efficiency and reduce downtime
• Ensure all fabricated materials meet blueprint specifications and engineering standards
• Train and mentor operators on equipment use, safety compliance, and process improvements
• Collaborate with management to optimize labor allocation and improve overall plant performance
• Maintain working knowledge of all production equipment to support troubleshooting and operational continuity
• Previous supervisory/leadership experience (5 or more years desired)
• Working knowledge of metal working machinery-Mandatory-Brake Press, Shear, Plate Roller, saws, XY Tables, Welding
