Medical Front Desk Receptionist / Optometric Technician

Eyes Now is a private optometry practice seeking a professional and dedicated Medical Front Desk Receptionist/Optometric Technician to join our team. The primary function of this role is to ensure the efficient and effective daily flow of patients by providing exceptional administrative support and assisting with optometric services. As the first point of contact for patients, you will create a welcoming and efficient environment while maintaining patient confidentiality.

Essential

Duties
  • Front Desk Administration:
    Manage emails, phone calls, text messages, faxes, and mail; scan and manage chat channels; greet patients and check them into appointments; schedule appointments and confirmations; and check patients out of appointments.
  • Medical Billing and Collections:
    Verify medical and vision insurance benefits, create invoices after services are received, sell contact lenses, and collect payment at the point of service.
  • Optometric Services:
    Assist physicians with portions of the services, including documenting patient history, pressure checks, conducting some imaging, and contact lens fittings.
  • Opening and Closing of Clinic:
    Perform all opening and closing duties related to the facilities and report the day’s metrics.
Experience & Skills
  • 1 year of experience in a medical office is required.
  • Previous experience as an optometric technician or similar role (preferred but not required).
  • Working knowledge of electronic medical records.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations including HIPAA.
  • Knowledge of billing and collections including insurance verification and invoicing for services.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with a diverse group of patients and staff.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
