Job Description
American Traveler seeks an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position providing night shift care and requiring a WV or compact RN license.
Responsibilities
• Work in the Emergency Department (ER) of a hospital setting
• Unit consists of 5 ER beds plus 2 endoscopy beds
• Patient care includes triage, procedural sedation, ventilated patients, and dysrhythmia management
• Diagnostic services such as EKG, respiratory monitoring, nuclear medicine, radiology, suturing, and splinting are performed
• Night shift schedule: three 12-hour shifts per week from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend is required
• Floating required within scope to meet facility needs
• Open to accommodating blocked schedule requests
• Responsibilities include providing emergency nursing care, performing triage, administering and monitoring sedation, and supporting diagnostic procedures
• Perm employees cannot return as travelers until at least 3 years after their last date of permanent employment
• Flu vaccination is mandatory unless an allergy is documented by a physician or allergist
• Orientation/start dates are held every other Thursday
• First-time travelers will be considered
• Must supply two manager or charge nurse references for consideration
Requirements
• Active WV or compact RN license required; pending license accepted for consideration
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience required, with at least 1 year in the Emergency Department
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Fit test and CPI certification required; CPI can be completed with Qualivis
• TNCC certification is preferred
• Strong skills in continuous and procedural IV sedation, dysrhythmia management, triage, and care for ventilated patients
• Permanent address must be more than 100 miles from the facility for consideration
• Candidates must have a clean RN license with no prior suspensions; probations considered on a case by case basis
