As we continue to expand, we are seeking a highly organized and experienced Shop Manager to lead our team and maintain our high standard of quality and efficiency.
Position OverviewThe Shop Manager oversees daily operations of the repair facility, ensuring smooth workflow, excellent customer service, and top-tier repairs. This role involves supervising technicians, coordinating repairs, managing schedules, and maintaining a clean and safe working environment. The ideal candidate has hands‑on mechanical experience (light‑duty and heavy‑duty), strong communication skills, and proven leadership ability.
Responsibilities- Oversee all shop operations, including scheduling, workflow management, and daily assignments
- Supervise and support technicians performing light‑duty and heavy‑duty repairs
- Communicate with customers, vendors, and fleet managers regarding repair needs, estimates, and timelines
- Ensure high‑quality repairs and adherence to safety standards
- Diagnose mechanical issues when needed and provide technical support to the team
- Maintain inventory levels and coordinate parts ordering
- Monitor labor hours, productivity, and efficiency
- Implement and enforce company policies and procedures
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Assist with hiring, training, and performance evaluations of shop staff
- 3–5+ years of experience in automotive or heavy‑duty truck repair
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience in a shop setting preferred
- Strong understanding of diagnostic processes and repair operations
- Ability to multitask and maintain a high level of organization
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Proficiency with repair software, scheduling tools, and workflow management
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- CDL (preferred but not required)
- ASE or manufacturer certifications (preferred)
