Educational and Experience Requirement: Bachelor’s degree in related field. Two years relevant specialist experience or experience in a related field. Experience in Higher Education and specialized work is desirable. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.
Nature & Purpose of Position: Performs highly advanced and complex specialist duties the Correctional Management Institute of Texas (CMIT).
Primary Responsibilities- Facilitates in the development and has direct responsibility for programs, current trainings, and future initiatives to include training teams, speakers, contracts, hotel contracts, reimbursements, and meeting support.
- Accountable for the execution and follow through of complex and technical responsibilities.
- Plans, develops, implements, coordinates, and monitors training programs or services.
- Responds to information requests and collects, reconciles, and maintains complex data.
- Monitors budgets, accounts, and expenditures.
- Monitors project timelines and identifies issues.
- Prepares, reviews, revises and distributes documents and correspondence.
- Recommends to the supervisor internal policies and procedures, clerical functions, and work-flow to ensure effective and efficient operation.
- Contacts criminal justice constituents to answer training needs, facilitates trainings, identifies content experts, and answers questions of Institute and various trainings.
- Assists with professional associations and the daily requirements with memberships, conference support, and contacts.
- This is not a Training Instructor position.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requires detailed knowledge of university infrastructure, policies and procedures. Requires thorough knowledge of office systems. Must have the ability to solve operational problems and make suggestions for process improvement.
