Job Summary

Performs technical duties in patient care, assisting with cleanliness, grooming, rest, activity, nourishment, and medication distribution. Supports a safe therapeutic environment alongside professional staff.

Essential Job Functions

Collects and documents vital signs, height, weight, intake/output, pulse oximetry, and specimens.

Assists with patient activities and care as directed by the charge nurse, based on the patient's care plan.

Provides personal hygiene, wound care, feeding, and assists patients with mobility.

Maintains a safe, comfortable environment; manages pharmacy and nursing supplies.

Distributes and documents medications, complying with relevant licensing standards.

Ensures drug room security, restocks medications, and maintains pharmaceutical equipment.

Enters medication compliance data into the pharmacy system.

Participates in ongoing education to meet accreditation standards.

Follows internal controls and reporting protocols.

Performs other related duties as needed.

Equipment

Uses standard patient care supplies, equipment, and mechanical devices.

Work Environment

Located within a correctional facility; security clearance and drug testing required.

Required Education/Experience

High school diploma or GED; current Texas Certified Medication Aide permit.

Compensation based on experience.
