Responsibilities
- Build community within the residence hall(s)
- Hold students accountable for policies and procedures
- Participate in duty rotation with fellow Resident Advisors
- Hold office hours
- Maintain confidentiality
- Be a role model for residents and campus community
- Assist with RA selection
- Attend professional development sessions offered by Residence Life
- Candidate must be available every Tuesday from 3:30 pm-5:00 pm
- Availability and flexibility to work a non‑traditional schedule (including weekends, some holidays, prior to hall opening and after the halls close)
- Attend RA training at the beginning of each semester
- Limit outside employment
- Serve as a Campus Security Authority
- Willingness to assist residential students
- Ability to be in a leadership role and positively influence residential students
- Proven written and oral communication skills
- Minimum GPA of 2.0 or above
- Preferably have resided on campus for at least one long semester at time of employment
- You must have completed 12 credit hours by the time of employment. Once you have joined the department, you must maintain at least 6 financial‑aid eligible hours each long semester.

- Have three RA recommendation forms completed on your behalf. Recommendation forms can be emailed to resourcecenter, faxed, or brought directly to the Residence Life Office.
- Answer the supplemental living‑community questions if you are interested in working in one of the living communities on campus. Include your responses as the last page of your resume. You need not answer them for a general RA application.
