Educational And Experience Requirement
Earned Doctorate or terminal degree in any discipline within the College of Arts and Media (CAM). A record of high-quality performance as an educator, evidence of scholarly achievement, and ability and experience in administration at the unit, college, or university level. Must demonstrate human relations and managerial skills and an understanding of disciplines that comprise the College.
Nature And Purpose Of Position
The College of Arts and Media (CAM) invites applications for the position of Associate Dean of Student Success and Enrollment. The Associate Dean for Student Success and Enrollment is a critical member of the colleges administrative leadership team and plays a strategic role in advancing achievement, engagement, and access for both undergraduate and graduate students. The Associate Dean is expected to assist the Dean of the College with supporting student retention, recruitment, career readiness, internship coordination, campus engagement events, and ensuring holistic coordinated care of every CAM student.
The Associate Dean will work collaboratively across departments and across the University to implement initiatives that promote student success, retention, and wellness.
Primary Responsibilities
- Leads initiatives that promotes student achievement, engagement, and career readiness, including oversight of the Student Success Center, peer mentoring, internships, and CAMX
2301. - Supports student wellness and retention, coordinates access to support resources, manages First Alerts, and advances affordability through scholarships and financial guidance.
- Oversight of academic operations such as advises, application review, graduation processing, and appeals.
- Collaborates with university leadership, serves on the Council of Academic Associate Deans, contributes to transfer pathway development, and fosters student voice and community through the CAM Student Advisory Board and CAM Creative Community.
- As assigned by the Dean, the Associate Dean will serve on and lead committees and initiatives, particularly those tied to student success. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Other Specifications
As required to discharge duties effectively and efficiently, the candidate will have experience in student affairs and support services, academic advising, career readiness, enrollment management and community building with internal and external partners. This role includes assisting with interdepartmental collaborations with respect to productions and performances. The Associate Dean position requires candidate to have qualifications to be eligible to be hired at an advanced faculty rank:
Associate or Full Professor within a College of Arts and Media (CAM) discipline, with tenure.
