JOB DESCRIPTIONJob Impulse, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Materials Specialist in Huntsville, AL
. Our client is a manufacturing organization supporting high-volume production operations. The Materials Specialist is responsible for shipping, receiving, inventory control, and internal/external customer support while maintaining accuracy, organization, and safety standards.
- Assist with UPS and other shipments of parts to customers
- Accurately receive parts shipments by inspecting items and comparing counts to purchase orders and packing lists
- Collect and analyze stock usage data to anticipate material needs
- Identify, investigate, and resolve parts or equipment discrepancies
- Enter inventory and shipment data accurately into computer systems
- Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers
- Stock and organize parts shelves; maintain cleanliness and organization
- Unload deliveries using a forklift
- Maintain company vehicle condition and cleanliness
- Support Kan Ban inventory levels by checking, pulling, and returning reorder cards
- Maintain departmental cleanliness, safety, and housekeeping standards
- Drive company vehicle to deliver and pick up parts as needed
- Perform duties related to fuel, weight, alignment, and mileage tracking on units
- Occasionally work weekends as required
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume shipping and receiving environment
- Strong attention to detail with emphasis on accuracy and quality
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to adapt quickly and shift between tasks
- Willingness to take initiative and learn parts used in emergency vehicle assembly
- Dependable with strong attendance and stable work history
- Positive attitude and willingness to assist others
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in shipping and receiving, preferably high-volume
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Forklift experience preferred
- Mechanical background and familiarity with assembly equipment and tools is a plus
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required
- Must be able to meet DOT Certification requirements
- Failure to maintain driving record and insurability may result in termination
- Work environment may include hot, cold, or dusty conditions
- Ability to frequently lift 50–60 lbs
- Requires lifting, reaching, bending, kneeling, stooping, and twisting
