We are seeking a Mid‑Level Data Scientist to join our team in Huntsville, AL, contributing to multiple software and artificial intelligence programs in support of missile defense and space systems. In this pivotal role, you will apply expertise in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Data Science to develop, deploy, and maintain advanced tools that drive automation, data analysis, and operational efficiency for our government customers.

You will be responsible for end-to-end AI/ML solution development, including but not limited to Deep Learning (DL), Large Language Modeling (LLM), and distributed training. This role requires hands‑on coding, system design, and the use of modern Dev Ops, containerization, and CI/CD practices to ensure robust, scalable, and secure deployments.

The ideal candidate is a US citizen with an active Secret security clearance (and eligibility for Top Secret) who thrives on learning new technologies, solving complex problems, and building software that advances national security missions. You’ll work closely with multidisciplinary teams, contributing to the full lifecycle of software development, from concept and architecture to deployment and sustainment, across multiple software and AI/ML programs.

• Analyze and interpret datasets ranging from Ethernet network captures to RF samples to train robust and efficient AI models.
• Design, develop, and deploy AI/ML software: architect, code, and maintain scalable applications and backend APIs using Python, Docker, and related technologies, integrating AI/ML capabilities to enhance automation and decision support.
• Support AI/ML programs by developing, implementing, and optimizing algorithms and software components using frameworks such as PyTorch and Kubeflow.
• Design, build, and package software for deployment using Docker and Kubernetes, ensuring efficient, portable, and secure execution across environments.
• Deploy AI/ML solutions, including large language models (LLMs), to solve complex and nuanced tasks such as text summarization.
• Implement CI/CD and Dev Ops practices by developing automated pipelines using Git Lab or equivalent platforms for continuous integration, testing, and deployment.
• Maintain software quality and security through best practices in version control, code review, documentation, and secure coding, ensuring compliance with cybersecurity standards and government requirements.
• Collaborate across teams, engaging with engineers, other data scientists, and system integrators to define technical solutions, share insights, and support multiple initiatives.
• Innovate and evolve by exploring and evaluating emerging technologies to continuously improve performance, scalability, and user functionality.
• Travel minimally for onboarding, training, test events, and other essential corporate activities.

• Educational background:
  Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Experience:
  
  At least 3 years of data science or software development experience.
• Technical proficiency:
  Demonstrable skills in coding, data management, and software workflows; strong understanding of machine‑learning workflows and deployment infrastructure.
• Programming experience:
  Extensive experience with Python, PyTorch, Docker, version control, and backend APIs.

  Strong oral and written communication abilities for discussing technical concepts with technical and non‑technical colleagues.
