We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer / Product Owner to lead development of the Engagement Planner Integrated Tasker (Tasker) supporting the Ground-Based Midcourse Defense (GMD) Weapon System (GWS). This role blends hands‑on software engineering (Ada/C++) with Agile product ownership and technical team leadership in a secure DoD environment.

• Own and drive the product roadmap, vision, and backlog for Tasker software
• Lead Sprint planning, estimation, and prioritization for the Scrum team
• Develop and brief performance metrics and program status to leadership
• Provide hands‑on software development (primarily Ada; modular C++ integration)
• Implement and maintain complex algorithms within event‑driven architectures
• Support and maintain inter‑product interfaces across the GMD ecosystem
• Contribute to CI/CD and Dev Sec Ops  automation pipelines
• Operate in a secure, closed‑area environment supporting national defense

• Federal Law requires U.S. Citizenship
• Bachelor’s degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math)
• Active Secret clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret
• Experience:
  • 8+ years (BS) / 6+ years (MS) / 4+ years (PhD) relevant software development experience
  • Programming:
    Recent experience with C++ or Java; willingness to develop proficiency in Ada
• Technical Expertise:
  • Implementing and debugging event‑driven systems
  • Developing and integrating complex algorithms
  • Maintaining software interfaces across distributed systems
• Agile & Dev Sec Ops :
  • Jira, Confluence
  • Jenkins, Ansible
  • Git/Git Lab
  • CI/CD automation
• Leadership:
  • Experience as Product Owner OR leading technical teams (5+ engineers)
  • Estimating, planning, and scheduling software development efforts
  • Must be able to work on‑site in a secure/closed‑area environment

• Active Top Secret clearance
• Experience with Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) or Midcourse Missile Defense
• Background in:
• Battle Management
• Threat State Processing
• Weapon Target Assignment
• Experience supporting the MDA GMD program
• Strong proficiency in Ada
• Experience developing analysis tools in MATLAB and Python
• Experience with algorithm development
