Software Developer, Developer Relations Location :
Hybrid or in office, Philadelphia, PACesium is an open platform for the built and natural environment to empower software developers to build digital twin experiences. We support the software developer community with open source and open standards. Our work has a broad reach, ranging from the world’s largest construction companies to the US government to FOX Sports on NFL Sunday.
Cesium has more than 10,000,000 lifetime downloads, and our cloud services reach more than 30,000 monthly active developers. We are in an extraordinary position and are looking for a software developer to join our new Developer Relations team. This is a community- and customer-facing role developing demos, code examples, tutorials, and best practices while engaging externally in technical Q&A online and in customer meetings to grow the ecosystem and our business.
The ideal candidate is a hands‑on software developer with customer-facing experience or potential.
This role reports directly to the Head of Developer Relations in the Platform organization.
Responsibilities- Advance technical initiatives to support the open-source 3D geospatial developer community, business development, and partnerships
- Create reusable demos, technical papers, talks, and code examples to win business and grow the community
- Support the open-source developer community via technical Q&A in the community forum, Git Hub, and support channels
- Provide technical hands‑on pre‑sales support and post‑sales customer success
- Engage customers and potential customers in person and virtually with an authentic approach that creates successful win‑win business outcomes
- Represent the customer’s technical perspective to influence our roadmap
- This role does not require travel
- Requires sitting or standing at will while performing work on a computer (or other physical requirements)
- Exceptional communication in writing and in person. Ability or potential to communicate to a breadth of stakeholders, including executives, sales professionals, non‑technical managers, developers, and open‑source community members
- Experience with Cesium
JS, Cesium ion, iTwin, iTwin Capture, and/or Cesium plugins for Unreal Engine, Unity, or Omniverse is preferred - Experience in geospatial, AEC, aerospace & defense, and/or computer graphics is preferred
- BS or MS in a related field or equivalent experience
