This position is for a Software Engineer who will be responsible for software development in the Java language for the Regional Applications / Track Server team in Huntsville. Under minimal direction, you will provide specialized expertise within multiple systems, software disciplines, and customer areas. Responsibilities include in-depth analysis and technical support of systems software products, complex problem resolution, design, development, testing, operational integration, user support, and code maintenance.

You will develop or modify operating system applications, assist in design, coding, benchmark testing, debugging, documentation, and interface with other system support groups to set standards and improve overall efficiency. Additionally, you will design, code, test, and implement tools for operations automation across all phases of software systems programming.

• Command and control system application development.
• Software Integration and formal testing.
• Implementation of Cyber Security/RMF requirements.
• Ability to present advanced concepts to non-software engineers, including senior program and military leaders.
• Performance modeling.
• Microservices.
• Dev Sec Ops  and/or build management.
• Flexibility and willingness to take on unanticipated tasking.
• Good verbal and written communication skills; ability to work independently in a highly dynamic environment.

• Software practices such as coding standards, automated testing, automated build pipelines, and configuration.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong Java/J2EE experience.
• Experience developing enterprise applications on Linux (Windows experience also desired).
• Extensive experience with Java foundation classes and toolkits.
• Strong problem‑solving skills, including performance review, root‑cause analysis, and solution design.
• Use of development and management tools such as Maven, Git/Git Hub, Nexus, and Eclipse.
• Experience with agile development methodologies.

Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of experience or Master’s degree with 3+ years of experience.

Full Time / On‑Site in Huntsville, AL. Clearance requirement:
Secret.

$105,000 – $127,000 USD (actual salary based on location, experience, skill set, performance, licence, certification, and business needs). Variable incentive compensation may also be applicable.
