The hours and location you’ll work in as a Diesel Mechanic with WM are described below.

• Starting salary of $29-$35.00 per hour depending on experience
• Stable hours for your financial stability

• Monday – Friday every week
• Shift is from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm
• Stable hours for the financial security and work-life balance
• Repair/maintenance shop at WM’s Huntsville, AL collection site

• Inspect, diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on a wide range of vehicles and equipment
• Estimate time and material costs on vehicle repairs and new parts
• Perform work within our Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs)
• Respond to service calls for emergency breakdowns
• Safety checks on vehicles; safety of every employee and the community is the top priority
• Complete required paperwork, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times
• Assist senior Mechanics in the completion of project work
• Review, complete, or assign repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports
• Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate / OSHA Standards

• 2 years of relevant work experience
• A valid driver’s license, with a clean driving record
• Be over 18 years of age
• Legally eligible to work in the United States
• Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations
• Successfully complete and pass pre-employment drug screen and physical

• Exert physical effort including frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, and climbing; constant standing, walking, and grasping; occasional sitting and balancing
• Exposure to physical occupational risks (such as cuts, burns, exposure to toxic chemicals)
• Exposure to environments with dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes or similar elements
• Work in both indoor garage/shop or gas plant conditions as well as outside conditions with inclement weather, heat and humidity
