Overview
Leidos Mechanical Manufacturing is seeking a CNC Machinist Apprentice to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems.
Apprentices will learn the following skill sets during the program:
- Part Layout prior to machining
- Setup and operate manual milling machines
- Setup and operate manual lathe machines
- Setup and program, operate CNC Mill and Lathes
- Conduct general housekeeping and maintenance
- The term of the apprenticeship is 36 competencies, supplemented by the 1,530 total hours of related instruction, resulting in 2 MTT certificates.
- Apprentices will attend college work instruction during Non-Work/Non-Paid Hours. Tuition and books are covered by Dynetics last-dollar scholarship.
- Apprentices shall be paid a progressively increasing schedule of wages as apprentices attain proficiency in competencies.
- Completion of program is 2 years or less based on competency completions.
- Applicant must have a high school diploma, General Education Development (GED) equivalency.
- In addition to the apprenticeship application, applicants must complete an application to the Community College training provider and be granted admission into the training program.
- Ability to understand and carry out general instructions.
- Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
- Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess or meet the eligibility to obtain (and be able to maintain) a Secret Clearance.
Completion of high school technical trade school is a plus.

Pay RangePay Range $35,100.00 - $63,450.00
