We are actively seeking to hire a full-time Fire Alarm Technician to install and service commercial fire alarms and other low voltage systems, and address customer needs.
This position offers a competitive wage based on experience, education and certifications. The typical work schedule for this position is Monday - Friday from 7:30am to 4:30pm.
Every day you will have the opportunity to install and program low voltage systems in accordance with project specifications, applicable codes, and the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ).
What You ll Do- Installation, programming and service of fire alarm systems.
- Complete fire alarm installation and/ or service projects.
- Ensure all work is performed to NFPA 72 and company standards with quality installations, service, and inspections.
- Must be able to walk and climb ladders to safely test fire alarm systems such as smoke detectors, heat detectors and pull stations as needed.
- Complete fire alarm installation/ programming projects as efficiently as possible and communicate issues to the fire alarm projects admin team in a timely manner.
- Work within a team of fire alarm technicians and professionals to collaborate, problem solve, and learn in a fast-paced environment. Work independently when necessary to self-manage and complete jobs within the allotted time.
- Complete jobs and daily tasks using company software.
- Work in compliance with the company safety policies and procedures to always ensure safety of self and others.
- Work with the managers, supervisors, and office staff to ensure a seamless process from scheduling to billing. Strong communication and accurate report completion are a must.
- Service and provide preventive maintenance on a variety of low voltage systems.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues using a variety of testing devices.
- Ensure compliance with electrical and fire safety codes.
- Properly maintain and take care of equipment.
- Must be in good physical condition with no limitations.
- Must be willing to work outdoors in inclement weather.
- Must be able to carry 50 pounds repeatedly.
- Must be able to push greater than 100 pounds as needed.
- Must be able to pull greater than 100 pounds as needed.
- Must be able to safely climb a ladder and reach a height of at least 12 - 24 ft.
- Experience:
Fire alarm: 1 year (Preferred);
Low voltage: 1 year (Required). - License/Certification:
Driver s License;
Low Voltage License (Preferred).
