Eagle Harbor, LLC is actively seeking a HME Chemist Instructor to support course engagements in Huntsville, AL. The position may require CONUS and OCONUS travel.
Description:
An HME Chemist Instructor (Journeyman) is able to perform all the duties of the HME Chemist Instructor (Junior) and possesses advanced training, knowledge and experience to include preparing hazardous precursor materials such as concentrated hydrogen peroxide or nitric acid, ability to teach HME chemistry, assist with the mixing of explosive shots and other advanced duties as directed.
The HME Chemist Instructor (Journeyman) must also meet the following additional qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications- U.S. citizenship
- Eligible for both US Tourist Passport and US Official Passport
- Able to obtain a Secret government clearance.
- Must be able to agency clearance
- A minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited university in Chemistry (emphasis in analytical chemistry is preferred), or Forensic Science (with analytical chemistry emphasis)
- A minimum of 5 years of directly relatable experience working with explosives, as a chemist, in a government forensic science laboratory or a government explosive research facility.
- Graduation from the NCETR Instructor Development course
- The ability to communicate highly technical topics to students of varied technical competencies.
- Additionally, the following experiences are sought:
- Experience synthesizing and/or formulating explosive materials
- Experience handling explosive materials
- Experience chemically analyzing explosives
- Experience with the sensitivity testing of explosives
- Experience writing technical documents related to test plans, safety programs and policy, procedures, and guidelines.
