ResponsibilitiesAs an Area Supervisor, you manage a specific store area and provide general operations leadership, often acting as Manager on Duty.
- Open and close the store, supervising associates and maintaining a friendly, easy‑to‑shop environment.
- Ensure proper merchandise presentation, cleanliness, and adherence to company merchandising standards.
- Execute and supervise Company operational processes as required.
- Prioritize safety; correct or report unsafe conditions promptly.
- Secure building access, EAS devices, cash office, and register areas.
- Test fire alarms, respond to after‑hours alarms when requested.
- Treat all customers, associates, and leaders with respect.
- Demonstrate courtesy, friendliness, and professionalism at all times.
- Represent the Company brand consistently.
- Maintain professional appearance per Dress Code.
- Ensure daily trash removal and overall store cleanliness.
- Assist in receiving, processing, and merchandising all product types, including back‑stock.
- Enforce loss prevention policies and conduct package inspections.
- Train associates on cash procedures, shortages, and front‑end standards.
- Control associate schedules and ensure equipment functionality.
- Conduct go‑back processing, scanning, tagging, and ticketing.
- Perform cash pulls, deposits, and bank transactions per policy.
- Administer payroll, scheduling, and register approvals.
- Handle other duties assigned by the Store Manager.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in English.
- Prior customer service and supervisory experience preferred.
- Familiarity with point‑of‑sale equipment and applications.
- Basic mathematical calculations common to retail environments.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends.
- Use all store equipment, including PDTs, registers, and PC.
- Stand, walk, and move around the store up to 100% of working time.
- Regularly bend at the waist, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
- Occasionally push, pull, and lift more than 25 lbs.
- Use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other supplies.
