Lead Quality Inspector – Defense Systems Platform Integration Facility
Leidos seeks a Lead Quality Inspector to lead inspectors and support the manufacturing floor. The role verifies electro‑mechanical parts and assembled hardware meet drawings/specifications, assists in documentation, and maintains non‑conformance tracking.
Primary Responsibilities- Coordinate inspection activities to support multiple concurrent programs.
- Read prints and understand assembly instructions.
- Document non‑conformance and investigate root causes.
- High School Diploma/GED with at least 5 years of experience in an ISO
9001/AS9100 environment or equivalent in DOD, aerospace, or automotive manufacturing quality control. - Experience working with non‑conforming material, performing failure analysis, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective actions.
- Proficient with standard measurement equipment (micrometers, calipers, multi‑meters, etc.).
- Ability to execute inspections, witness acceptance testing, and generate test reports.
- Experience reading and interpreting drawings, assembly schematics, and specifications and preparing inspection reports.
- Generate quality documentation including inspection reports, bubble prints, C of C’s, and NCR’s.
- Effective communication within a team environment.
- Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing.
- Review work instructions for accuracy and completeness and implement AS9100 QMS documentation.
- Perform in a collaborative environment with cross‑disciplinary teams.
- U.S. Citizen with a Final Secret Clearance or eligibility to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
- Inspection of complex aerospace hardware, non‑conforming material, and Material Review Board experience.
- Experience with ISO
9001/AS9100 quality systems, AS5553 counterfeit prevention, and AS9102 first‑article inspection. - Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds.
