Overview
The Outpatient Charge Nurse identifies patient needs and priorities for care through assessment, planning and delegating care based on patient needs. Executes therapeutic physician orders and therapeutic nursing interventions. Evaluates the patients response to care and the attainment of or progress towards patient outcomes. Coordinates care between other professional disciplines as needed. Helps patients and/or staff identify problems and explores with them the alternative choices and outcomes.
QualificationsEducation required: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
License, certification and/or registration: Current Alabama or multistate nursing license required. BLS certification required (within 90 days of hire). ACLS certification required (must be completed within the provisional period, this requirement is based upon the hospitals availability of ACLS classes and should be done as soon as possible if not done within Provisionary Period).
Experience: Previous nursing experience in critical care setting with successful demonstration of supervisory and/or management ability required.
Additional skills/abilities: Must posses excellent communication and critical thinking skills with the ability to work in a fast paced environment, requiring prioritizing and changing tasks frequently and quickly
