Reports to: Marketing Manager at Downtown Rescue Mission (DRM)
Education, Experience, and Other Requirements- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Problem-solving ability both independently and in a team setting.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects within deadlines.
- Experience creating, managing, and reconciling event budgets.
- Financial accountability and reporting skills.
- Understanding of event marketing strategies.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills to secure cost-effective solutions.
- Understanding of vendor and service contracts, including key terms and obligations.
- Ability to adapt quickly to resolve last-minute issues, changing needs, or challenges.
- Professionalism in handling clients, donors, volunteers, staff, and stakeholders.
- Commitment to providing excellent guest experiences.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
- Willingness to work on occasional evenings or weekends as needed to support priorities. Most duties and responsibilities are during scheduled hours on weekdays.
- Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time and lift 30 lbs. unassisted.
- Maintains positive attitude and moral Christian image (Titus 1:6-9, 1 Timothy 3:1-14).
- Build and maintain healthy relationships with coworkers, donors, volunteers, vendors and venues.
- Effectively prioritize and manage multiple projects with little supervision.
- Plan and manage a minimum of 3 primary events annually–which vary in size, location and purpose–plus additional smaller events as needed.
- Anticipate event risks and develop contingency plans.
- Manage event budgets and produce accurate financial reports.
- Collaborate with staff and volunteers to ensure event success.
- Respond to donor and volunteer inquiries in a timely and responsive manner.
- Manage routine correspondence to donors, volunteers, staff, and other constituents.
- Recruit and coordinate volunteers from the community, corporations, and churches.
- Create, update, and prioritize a queue of volunteer opportunities based on the needs of DRM programs/ministries, operations, special events, and other projects.
- Maintain volunteer records and match skills to needs.
- Seek and secure event sponsor ships and giveaways as well as gifts-in-kind.
- Establish success metrics, evaluate outcomes, and implement improvements.
- Represent DRM at events and speak publicly when needed.
- Solicit, receive, and track gifts-in-kind (non-monetary donations) as needed.
- Maintain a 40-hour work week for a full-time salary position.
- Experience in Go Fund Me and Volunteer Hub.
- Knowledge of AV equipment and event technology.
