Leidos Defense Systems Electronic Manufacturing Facility is seeking a Cable Test Technician to join our team at our Electronics Manufacturing Facility. The successful candidate will support different programs ranging from commercial customers to DoD customers. The technician is responsible for a variety of low voltage and Hi‑Pot testing.
Primary Responsibilities- Test completed cable assemblies for continuity, shorts, dielectric withstand voltage, and insulation resistance.
- Test coax cables for insertion loss and reflection coefficient.
- Build test cables.
- Interpret engineer drawings, electrical schematics, and technical specifications.
- Collaborate with design engineers, manufacturing engineers, and other technicians to develop strategies and identify potential issues during assembly.
- Perform troubleshooting and explain issues.
- High School diploma/GED with 2‑4 years cable building and/or electrical/mechanical assembly experience.
- Working knowledge of specialized tools and equipment used during cable assembly process.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) Final Secret Clearance or be eligible to obtain a Secret Clearance.
- Current or prior certification in IPC/WHMA‑A‑620 with Space addendum.
- Current or prior certification in J‑STD‑001.
- Working knowledge of Cable Eye cable tester, Keysight Fieldfox, and Fluke digital multimeters.
