Quality Technician
Pay Rate Range: $32-35
Monday - Friday. Typical hours are 6:00am - 2:30pm or 7:00am to 3:30pm.
Contract Role: 4+ months contract
Position SummaryThe Quality Technician is responsible for customer, supplier, and internal quality initiatives which include product inspections to IPC 610 standard, ISO 9102 FAI, Source Inspection, and customer audits/surveys.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Responsible for improvement of key process metrics
- Certified in IPC 610 class 3 workmanship standards
- Apply, interpret, and explain identified IPC defects for defect reporting
- AS9102 FAI preparation and presentation
- Work as a change agent combined with the ability to work at various levels and cross functionally in the organization
- Interpret and understand IPC Workmanship standards
- Lead improvement activities involving Lean principles and tools
- Meet as necessary with customers to resolve issues and problems
- Minimum High School diploma
- Minimum 5 years’ previous experience and demonstrated proficiency as IPC inspector of circuit card assemblies
- Experience with Source Inspection preparation and presentation
- Internal auditing experience
- Must be able to read and understand assembly drawings for the purpose of inspections
- Highly effective communicator with all organizational levels
- Demonstrate computer competency, including Email, Excel, and Power Point
- Proven leadership capability
- AS9100 or ISO
9001 QMS experience - Six Sigma Green Blet/Lean experience desired
- Strong Project Management skills
- ESD Program Knowledge
Office setting and environment
The work environment is usually well-lighted, heated and/or air-conditioned indoor office setting with adequate ventilation. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
Exposure to heat or cold will mostly be limited to when walking from one building to another or if bay doors have been opened to allow for shipping and receiving activities. The use of safety equipment may be required.
Most work will be conducted indoors in a 'shop' or manufacturing type environment.
Essential Physical Tasks- Regularly required to sit or stand, walk, bend and reach with hands and arms
- Regular use of hands/fingers for handling, holding, grasping and typing on a computer keyboard
- The facility has two floors requiring employees to go up and down stairs as needed
- The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside around manufacturing machinery and within a storage location
- The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
