Description
The Prototyping Manufacturing and Integration Division (PMID) of Applied Research Associates (ARA), Inc ( ) has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Sewing Textile Tech 1 on-site at our Huntsville, AL location. The Sewing Textile Tech 1 is capable of performing all tasks operating industrial sewing machinery and/or utilizing fabric welding application processes and techniques. Sewing Textile Tech 1 will build and assemble products by reading and interpreting technical specifications, blueprints, and work orders.
Provide quality products for customers and collaborate with production supervisor, engineers, designers, pattern makers, and quality control personnel, to ensure seamless production flow and timely delivery.
NOTE:
This position requires at minimum the ability to obtain & maintain a SECRET clearance from the US Department of War.
Pay Ranges:
From $21 - $25 per hour; based on experience in specialized industrial sewing and/or fabric welding.
- 2-3 years’ working knowledge of operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting sewing machines and/or fabric welding equipment to fabricate and assemble various textile products.
- Experience reading blueprints, schematics or sketches, interpreting technical specifications, and completing work orders.
- Effective verbal and written communication.
- Ability to inspect products during production and make repairs.
- Collaborate in a team setting and follow directions and instructions.
- Record production data, report issues, and escalate problems as needed.
- Adhere to safety procedures, maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Continuously improve skills related to fabric welding and sewing techniques through training.
- Perform physical duties including sitting for long periods, pushing, pulling, standing, reaching, grasping, bending, climbing, stooping, and lifting up to 50 lbs individually or with assistance.
- Wear required personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, respirator, safety shoes, hearing protection, and hand protection.
- Active/current SECRET Clearance from the US Department of War.
