Duties and Responsibilities- Perform high-profile work for the Department of Defense.
- Provide technical support engineering for assembly, construction, servicing or repair of equipment or instruments following specific instructions.
- Support adjusting and operating equipment, recording test data, and identifying deviations from equipment malfunction or observational errors.
- Function independently to resolve problems.
- Perform maintenance and other logistics functions on fielded systems.
- Operate a wide range of wheeled vehicles.
- Prepare shipping materials.
- Operate test and diagnostic equipment.
- Operate handling equipment.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent GED.
- Valid Commercial Driver's License.
- Interim Secret security clearance.
- Desired skills include:
- Heavy equipment operations, general material handling, and warehousing with experience handling hazardous materials.
- Computer literate (operate and update automated web-based data systems) and competent in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Mail).
- Physical ability to lift up to 100 pounds with proper equipment and lifting techniques.
- Ability to perform strenuous walking, pushing, and lifting; stand for extended periods.
- Demonstrated precise documentation skills.
- Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
- Strong background in mechanical repairs, with preference for experience in material handling equipment (commercial and military).
- Ability to adapt to a complex and evolving scope of work.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Proper use of standard hand tools and material handling equipment.
- Operation of heavy equipment, including trucks and forklifts, for material handling.
- Maintain a valid driver’s license.
- Maintain physical fitness to perform duties safely.
- Maintain required training and certifications.
- Ability to use computers to search for and generate information using Microsoft products.
- Travel 20-25% to CONUS and OCONUS locations.
- Work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
