Overview

This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which comprises Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance, and includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.

This function is the liaison between Operations site leadership, Program/Product leadership, and the Supply Chain Organization. You will be responsible for the long‑term strategy, management, and execution of material procurement and delivery to the customer. You will ensure support and performance from the front end of the business through fulfillment, with key responsibilities including supply chain alignment with program goals, cost management, supplier risk/opportunity management, integration with company commodity strategies, supplier performance and supply base consolidation, supply chain metrics, make/buy decisions, tactical/strategic sourcing, and requirements management (FAR/DFARS, ITAR, OPSEC, security classification guides, public law, quality, IP, warranty, etc.).

You will ensure the placement and receipt of all material requirements to meet these strategies and plans in support of site requirements, including complete material management and ownership (schedule, cost, and Material EAC). The role includes responsibility for financial management (budgets, targets, forecasting) and overall ownership of the supplier management process and communication of customer flow-through requirements to ensure supplier performance exceeds leadership objectives.

Responsibilities
  • Provide long-term procurement strategy and ensure on-time material delivery aligned with program goals and customer requirements.
  • Manage supplier relationships, risk/opportunity, and performance; drive supply base consolidation and KPI development.
  • Oversee make/buy decisions and defined supply chain strategies; lead tactical and strategic sourcing efforts.
  • Ensure compliance with requirements management (FAR/DFARS, ITAR, OPSEC, security classifications, etc.).
  • Own material management from planning through receipt, including schedule, cost, and EAC ownership.
  • Manage budgets, targets, and forecasting; communicate supply chain status to leadership and stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience;
    Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 4 years in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Engineering, or related field.
  • Thorough knowledge of procurement and planning, MRP/ERP planning and transactions, BOM structures, and material estimating.
  • Track record of managing complex technology projects with aggressive schedules and scarce resources.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to convey complex ideas and persuade senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to understand and discuss technical concepts, manage trade-offs, and evaluate ideas with internal and external partners.
  • Experience working across engineering, design, and project management to deliver products/services (DFx experience preferred).
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills; experience using data and metrics to drive actions.
  • Experience establishing and maintaining KPIs and driving improvements; knowledge of defense acquisition.
  • Deep knowledge in Supply Chain Management and Program Management; ability to create scalable processes.
  • Negotiation skills developed from contracts, proposal management, supplier management, or similar activities.
  • Ability to develop and execute project plans within budget and schedule, managing multiple programs and priorities.
  • Ambiguity tolerance with the ability to define scalable processes;
