The City of Huntsville’s General Services Department is seeking qualified applicants for Building Custodian positions. This role involves manual work cleaning, securing, and performing minor maintenance of public buildings and facilities.
Building CustodianPosition Overview
Responsibilities include routine cleaning and maintenance, opening and closing facilities, and ensuring the security of public buildings, particularly during public functions.
Qualifications AndSpecial Requirements
- High school diploma or GED desired, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Ability to read and write; some janitorial experience preferred.
- Valid driver’s license desired.
The City of Huntsville offers benefits such as sick leave, holiday pay, and retirement for its regular, part-time employees. Part‑time employees are not eligible for paid vacation, overtime, or other benefits.
