Job Description & How to Apply Below

Overview

We are a protection-focused firm dedicated to safeguarding widows and widowers during periods of acute vulnerability. Our work is centered on preventing further harm — financial, physical, reputational, and emotional — at a time when grief is frequently exploited.

We operate in environments where data misuse, identity distortion, and manipulation of public and quasi-public records are used against individuals who are least equipped to defend themselves. Our mission is straightforward: identify threats early, document misconduct accurately, and prevent irreversible damage while our clients rebuild their lives.

Discretion, precision, and ethical restraint define our work.

Role Description

This is a remote, undisclosed-site role involving focused surveillance, intelligence gathering, and rapid evidence documentation in support of protective cases involving widows and widowers. Operations are based in Madison, AL and the Huntsville–Decatur–Albertville area.

We are seeking an armed, licensed investigator (AL, NY, or MO) who understands multi-state reciprocity agreements, and is new to the area and has ‘no’ personal or professional ties to the region. This position supports active, time-sensitive cases where concerning behaviors, misrepresentations, or coordinated actions may already be underway.

The investigator’s role is to observe, verify, and document — quietly and efficiently — so intervention can occur before harm escalates. This is not speculative work. Subjects, behavioral patterns, and risk indicators are often already identified. What is required is confirmation, clarity, and defensible evidence.

Work may include nighttime surveillance, short-window observation, and legally compliant digital research related to fraud indicators, occupancy misrepresentation, identity manipulation, and coordinated misconduct. In some cases, this may involve identifying outside influence or assistance, including individuals or groups attempting to exert improper financial or personal control over a widow or widower.

This role requires someone who understands that grief can be weaponized — particularly against individuals with a history of long-term abuse — and who takes the responsibility of this work seriously.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct discreet surveillance with minimal operational footprint
  • Observe and document behaviors relevant to client protection and case resolution
  • Capture time-sensitive evidence necessary to support intervention or legal action
  • Collect, preserve, and report evidence while maintaining strict chain of custody
  • Identify inconsistencies, misrepresentations, and emerging risk indicators
  • Produce concise, factual reports focused on actionable findings
  • Coordinate with internal teams and expert resources as required
  • Maintain absolute confidentiality and operational security
  • Ensure all activities remain fully compliant with applicable laws and regulations
Qualifications
  • Strong investigative reporting and field investigation experience
  • Background in fraud, claims, or exploitation-related investigations
  • Demonstrated ability to manage evidence and maintain chain of custody
  • Proficiency in surveillance methods, including legally compliant cyber and digital techniques
  • Sharp analytical judgment and exceptional attention to detail
  • Clear, disciplined written and verbal communication
  • High emotional intelligence and professionalism in sensitive circumstances
  • Working knowledge of local, state, and federal investigative limitations
  • Prior law enforcement or advanced investigative background strongly preferred
Ideal Candidate Profile
  • This role is best suited for someone who: takes protective work personally — without becoming emotionally reactive
  • Understands how subtle, intentional, and deceptive actions can cause lasting harm
  • Possesses arrest powers and can move quickly without cutting corners, ensuring evidence is solid and defensible
  • Knows how to remain unseen while producing results
  • Is motivated by preventing harm, not attention, confrontation, or recognition
