IT Business Analyst, Systems Analyst

M9 Solutions is seeking a Business Systems Analyst to work on‑site for a client located in Huntsville, AL. An active TS clearance is required.
Responsibilities- Captures and translates user needs into well‑defined business and functional requirements that support product development, deployment, and continuous improvement.
- Plays a critical role in enhancing usability, improving user experience, and driving user adoption through structured analysis, stakeholder engagement, and workflow design.
- Leads the end‑to‑end collection, analysis, and documentation of user needs from initial prioritization through user story development and refinement.
- Facilitates requirements‑gathering sessions with mission users, product teams, and product owners to define and prioritize backlogs.
- Focuses on user‑centered requirements that improve usability, functionality, and user engagement.
- Decomposes core business needs into concepts of operation (CONOPS), user stories, story maps, workflow diagrams, and briefings.
- Develops and maintains documentation of business rules, logic flows, and operational impacts of proposed solutions.
- Ensures that business objectives and user perspectives are represented in all project phases.
- Supports agile development teams by continuously refining requirements and user stories to ensure clear acceptance criteria and traceability.
- Provides expert‑level consultation for complex projects, offering strategic recommendations that align technology solutions with evolving business needs.
- Analyzes and interprets functional and technical documents to identify business implications and ensures effective implementation.
- Applies intermediate‑level analytical and quantitative skills to solve business and technical problems involving multiple options and constraints.
- Translates abstract problems into actionable solutions that align with business goals.
Skills and Qualifications
- Active Top Secret security clearance.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, information systems, or related field; or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years of experience as a business systems analyst, product analyst, or similar role in a technical or mission‑driven environment.
- Experience using tools such as Jira, Confluence, Lucidchart, or similar for documentation and collaboration.
- Strong understanding of the NIST RMF processes and cybersecurity programs and federal governance.
Skills and Qualifications
- Experience supporting federal, defense, or mission‑driven organizations.
- Familiarity with user‑centered design principles, usability testing, and UX strategy.
- Certifications such as CBAP, PMI‑PBA, SAFe Practitioner, or Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO).
- Knowledge of software development life cycles (SDLC) and system integration principles.
