Job Description

Our Government Services prime client is seeking an experienced SQL Developer Architect with an active Secret security clearance and active Security+ certification, to support them and their government customer in Huntsville, AL.

  • This is not strictly a DBA position; candidates must have hands‑on experience developing and building out new databases.

Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:
  • Directs and monitors installation, configuration, and consolidation of Database Administration activities, and performs all mid‑level DB activities
  • Develops and maintains security provisions to guard against unauthorized updates, copying, or destruction of databases
  • Maintains redlined configuration schematics, user manuals, SOPs, TTPs, Change Management, and provides performance metrics to the Project Manager as required
  • Assigns Meta Tags and develops search strategies, user membership rules, record relationships, and data compression techniques
  • Maintains the Meta Tag library as required for data analytics within IA and cybersecurity guidelines
  • Determines characteristics of data elements and the nature of control to ensure transactions recorded for one function automatically create file notations, reports, or actions for related functions
  • Responsible for incident and problem response management, root cause analysis, and all required documentation and communications to the government for workforce situational awareness
  • Ensures policies and procedures for the administration, control, and verification of data used
  • Assists database system users concerning database languages and procedures; answers questions on the availability of existing data information, data structure, processing procedures, and the feasibility of modifying existing structures and processes
  • Responsible for data class assignments, data architecture, data standards, and the compilation and cataloging of data dictionaries
  • Ensures resource management for SAN and data repositories
Qualifications:

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology and a minimum of 5 years of SQL database development/administrator experience
  • Must Have

    Certifications:

    Security+ Certificate, or higher
  • Must hold an active US Government Secret Clearance
  • Must work on‑site daily in Huntsville, Al
  • Experience with SQL and Virtual DB environments
  • Ability to create and maintain complex functions, stored procedures, and complex queries for applications and business intelligence reporting
  • Expertise in troubleshooting and debugging SQL code
  • Capable of optimizing database performance
  • Understanding of indexing, querying, and normalization
  • Expertise in analyzing queries, developing security protocols, and resolving problems
  • Possess strong data management skills, with an understanding of database integrity and security
  • Experience with documentation, including updating schematics, configurations, metric/performance reports, user manuals, SOPs, and Change Management requests, as required
  • Familiar with risk management processes including security technical implementation guides, plans of action, and milestones
  • Capable of obtaining a government‑approved computing education certification consistent with primary skills, within 6 months of hire

Clearance Requirement:

  • Secret security clearance
