Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Agile Release Engineer to join our team. This critical role focuses on ensuring the seamless delivery of software and system updates through Agile practices and robust release management processes. As an Agile Release Engineer, you will work closely with cross‑functional teams to plan, coordinate, and execute software releases, ensuring alignment with mission objectives and Department of Defense (DoD) requirements.

Golden Dome is a national-level, whole‑of‑nation initiative in which you will play a critical role in advancing next‑generation homeland defense capabilities. Key Responsibilities
  • Release Planning and Execution:
    • Collaborate with Agile teams to define and schedule release milestones, ensuring timely delivery of software and system updates.
    • Develop and manage detailed release plans to coordinate development, testing, and deployment activities.
    • Oversee the end‑to‑end release lifecycle, including pre‑deployment, deployment, and post‑deployment stages.
  • Agile Process Implementation:
    • Facilitate Agile Release Train (ART) ceremonies to ensure teams operate efficiently within the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
    • Coordinate with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and engineering teams to ensure releases meet quality and compliance standards.
  • Configuration and Build Management:
    • Manage CI/CD pipelines to support continuous integration, automated testing, and deployment processes, ensuring scalable and repeatable delivery.
    • Implement configuration management for software builds and their corresponding environments.
  • Risk and Issue Mitigation:
    • Identify and resolve risks, dependencies, and bottlenecks throughout the release process to ensure consistent delivery.
    • Monitor and report on release metrics to program leadership, providing transparency on progress, risks, and outcomes.
  • Stakeholder

    Collaboration:

    • Coordinate with program leadership, engineering teams, and external stakeholders to align releases with mission‑critical goals.
    • Serve as the point of contact for release‑related inquiries, ensuring clear communication of timelines and priorities.
  • Quality Assurance and Compliance:
    • Ensure each release adheres to DoD cybersecurity policies, RMF guidelines, and regulatory standards.
    • Partner with test teams to verify the quality and functionality of releases before deployment.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain documentation related to release processes, timelines, and results to provide historical records and actionable insights.
    • Generate release performance and improvement reports for assessing and enhancing future delivery strategies.
Required Qualifications
  • Education and Experience:
    • Bachelor's degree with 10 years' related experience; master’s degree preferred.
  • Required Security Clearance:
    • Must have an Active Top‑Secret Clearance with SCI Eligibility.
    • 2 years' prior experience for access to Special Access Program Information (SAP), or Controlled Access Program (CAP); must have 1 year in the last 5 years.
  • Required Skills:
    • 10 years of experience in software release management, deployment processes, and Agile methodologies, preferably within DoD or aerospace programs.
    • Proficiency in CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Git Lab CI/CD, or equivalent platforms.
    • Familiarity with Agile frameworks like Scrum, Kanban, or Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
    • Knowledge of configuration management tools such as Git, Clear Case, or similar platforms.
    • Understanding of DoD systems development lifecycle, compliance requirements, and security considerations.
