SQL Developer/Administrator at Apex Systems
, located in Huntsville, AL.
We are seeking an experienced SQL Developer/Administrator with an active Secret security clearance to support KMS and our government customer. The role includes database administration, security provisioning, documentation, incident response, and performance monitoring.
Responsibilities- Direct and monitor installation, configuration, and consolidation of database administration activities.
- Develop and maintain security provisions to guard against unauthorized updates, copying, or destruction of databases.
- Maintain configuration schematics, user manuals, SOPs, TTPs, and change‑management documentation; provide performance metrics to the Project Manager.
- Assign meta tags, develop search strategies, user membership rules, record relationships, and data compression techniques.
- Maintain meta‑tag library for data analytics within IA and cybersecurity guidelines.
- Determine characteristics of data elements to ensure that transactions automatically create related records or reports.
- Responsible for incident and problem response management, root‑cause analysis, and documentation to the government.
- Ensure policies and procedures for administration control and verification of data.
- Assist database system users with database languages, procedures, and feasibility of modifications.
- Perform data class assignments, architecture, standards, and compile and catalog data dictionaries.
- Manage resources for SAN and data repositories.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology and at least 60 months of SQL database development/administration experience.
- Security+ Certificate or higher.
- Experience with SQL and virtual database environments.
- Ability to create and maintain complex functions, stored procedures, and queries for applications and business‑intelligence reporting.
- Expertise in troubleshooting, debugging SQL code, and optimizing database performance.
- Understanding of indexing, querying, and normalization.
- Experience with documentation of schematics, configurations, metric/performance reports, user manuals, SOPs, and change‑management requests.
- Familiarity with risk‑management processes, including security technical implementation guides and plans of action and milestones.
- Ability to obtain a government‑approved computing education certification within 6 months of hire.
- Secret security clearance.
