DevSecOps Engineer

Torch Technologies, a 100 percent employee-owned company, is seeking a professional Dev Sec Ops  Engineer to join a team currently developing virtual training devices. Candidates applying for this position will have the opportunity to work with gaming technology and interactive visualization products for training soldiers and civilians.

The candidate selected for this position will enable multiple agile development teams in creating development and operational environments for developers, artists, and subject matter experts. The ideal candidate must be able to work well both independently and within a multi-disciplinary collaborative team environment. The teams are developing a reusable framework and customer applications using the framework.

Expectations and Responsibilities:

• As a member of the Advanced Viz Lab, you are expected to be a positive, pro-active, and contributing team member, both within the lab, and across the company.
• You will be responsible for delivering infrastructure operating in an On-Premise Corporate IT Managed environment and the Microsoft Azure Cloud.
• You will contribute to the processes for building and integrating software components into a fully functional software system.
• You will have a focus on both fast iteration and long-term architecture while creating maintainable, testable, well-structured solutions.
• You will be expected to mentor junior level team members and take a leading role in architecting solutions.

• Eligibility to obtain and maintain a United States SECRET clearance is required for employment in this position.

Technical Requirements:

• Maintain modularity and reproducibility of infrastructure for multiple environments by provisioning infrastructure using tools such as Terraform and Ansible . Proactively eliminate toilsome tasks through automation.
• Manage the configuration of all services and environments used by the team.
• Maintain technical documentation for infrastructure.
• Proficient with virtualization, containerization, automation of container management using technologies such as Docker, containerd, and Kubernetes.
• Manage the instrumentation of services and build dashboards to facilitate monitoring and alerting for incident response and capacity planning using services like Prometheus, Loki, and Graphana.
• Test and evaluate solutions for vulnerabilities using Sonar Qube and similar services.
• Enable team to deliver continuously by extending and creating CI/CD pipelines. Troubleshoot performance issues and broken deployments.
• Ensure on call team members are adequately supported with runbooks for alerts and scenarios they may encounter.
• Assist the team in architecting scalable and secure solutions.
• Current Certification for CompTIA Security+, CCIA
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or other relevant field of study and +5 years of professional experience.

Desired but Not

Required Experience:

• +3 years professional working experience in Cloud Dev Ops.
• Administration of Atlassian products Jira & Confluence as well as Software Repositories such as Git Lab and Perforce.
• Experience with High-Availability configurations of critical services such as PostgreSQL
• Expert Administrator with multiple Server and Desktop Operating Systems.
• Proficient with Network Service Configuration(HTTP&HTTPS, DNS, Identity Managers, Certificates, etc.)
• Additional Relevant Certifications such as CCIE, CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Certified:
  Azure Network Engineer Associate
