We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Human Resources Specialist to join our team in Huntsville, AL. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who can efficiently support human resources functions in a government contractor environment.
Responsibilities- Provide administrative support, analysis, and management of HR Department activities as assigned by the HR Manager.
- Maintain and update employee records to ensure compliance with record-keeping requirements utilizing an HRIS platform.
- Serve as back-up support for the full recruitment cycle and onboarding process.
- Act as a point of contact for employee inquiries regarding policies, benefits, and HR-related concerns.
- Provide research, audits, and tracking to ensure company HR policies comply with state and federal labor laws and industry regulations.
- Support benefits enrollment and administration including the annual open enrollment process.
- Manage Employee Leave to include FMLA processing and tracking.
- Support HR and Marketing Departments with the planning and execution of employee engagement activities, company meetings, events, and conferences to include the handling of event logistics, ordering event materials, vendor coordination, and providing on-site day-of-event support.
- Host office visitors, ensuring hospitality as well as implementing standard security procedures.
- Handle office correspondence, including emails, phone calls, mail, and shipping/receiving of parcels to include delivering and picking up items off-site.
- Conduct daily office operations to ensure a clean and organized office environment for staff and visitors, maintain the office supply closet, kitchen pantry, and office equipment, and serve as POC to Property Management.
- Handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, Human Resources, or related field or equivalent related experience
- Experience as an Office Manager, HR Administrative Assistant, or similar role or field
- Human Resources Professional Certification or Degree
- Strong organizational, time-management, and communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) and experience using HRIS systems.
- High level of discretion and confidentiality.
- Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance
