AR Precertification Specialist

This is a full-time, entry-level position in the healthcare industry, focusing on insurance precertification processes.

• Pre-certify patients for visits, tests, and procedures based on insurance requirements.
• Follow up with insurance companies via calls, faxes, emails, or online systems.
• Assist billing, coding, registration, and insurance follow-up staff.
• Respond to departmental requests regarding insurance precertification.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of insurance requirements and notify staff of approval statuses.
• Handle denials and escalate as necessary while maintaining confidentiality.

• HS Diploma/GED required.
• Preferred: 3 years insurance/billing experience, 1 year healthcare experience.
• Knowledge of coding, AR, and insurance reimbursement essential.
• Strong organizational, verbal, and writing skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, independently, and as part of a team.

• Use of arms, hands, and fingers skillfully.
• Prolonged sitting and space-efficient work.
• Adaptability to schedule changes.
