Secret. Astrion is seeking a Security Specialist to support our customer in Huntsville, AL. The Security Specialist provides direct support to AvMC G-4 in the planning, coordination, and execution of security processes as a senior analyst and subject matter expert supporting the DEVCOM Aviation & Missile Center (AvMC) G-8 contracting team, providing specialized expertise in security classification guidance, DD 254 development, and contract-related security requirements.
- Support the planning, coordination, and execution of security requirements for contracts and programs.
- Advise government Contracting Officers, Program Managers, Security Specialists, and contracting personnel on matters involving classified contract actions to ensure security requirements are identified, documented, and compliant with DoD, Army, and DCSA policies.
- Draft, review, and validate DD 254s; interpret classification guides; coordinate with G-2, Industrial Security, and program offices; and ensure contracts, task orders, and performance work statements reflect clear, enforceable security obligations for government and contractor execution.
- Maintain authoritative knowledge of NISPOM, DoDM 5220.22, AR 380-49, and security-related DFARS clauses to ensure contract packages adhere to current regulations and pass reviews.
- Monitor contractor compliance with DD 254 requirements, coordinate updates when classification levels or program needs change, and prepare documentation for audits, inspections, and milestone reviews.
- Required:
Secret clearance; TSCI preferred. - 16+ years of direct US Government experience.
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Expert knowledge of applicable DoD and Army regulations.
- Strong analytical and communication skills; ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
- The incumbent advises government Contracting Officers, Program Managers, Security Specialists, and contracting personnel on classified contract actions, ensuring security requirements are accurately identified, properly documented, and compliant with DoD, Army, and DCSA policies.
