Systems Engineer

We have an immediate opening for a Senior Rapid Acquisition Lead
. In this role, you will direct planning, development, prototyping, integration, and accelerated fielding of advanced joint and cross‑domain defense capabilities. Located in Huntsville, the position supports a senior government organization executing rapid acquisition pathways to deliver critical capabilities on compressed timelines.
- Rapid Acquisition Leadership
- Execute programs under the DoD Adaptive Acquisition Framework, including:
Middle Tier of Acquisition (Rapid Prototyping & Rapid Fielding), Software Acquisition Pathway, Urgent Capability Acquisition - Manage/coordinate inputs for cost/schedule/performance, program roadmaps, risk registers, and technical baselines.
- Ensure prototype maturation through testing, operational evaluations, and transition to Program of Record or sustained fielding.
- Systems Engineering & Technical Integration
- Lead development of: CONOPS/CONEMPs, System requirements & verification plans, Architecture and interface definitions, Analysis of Alternatives (AoA) and trade studies, Apply digital engineering/MBSE and modular/open architecture practices when applicable, Direct integrated DT/OT planning in coordination with test ranges, laboratories, and operational units.
- Cross-Functional & Enterprise Coordination
- Coordinate with Army, MDA, PAEs, PEOs, COCOMs, OSD, and interagency partners as applicable.
- Lead/participate in Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) across engineering, contracting, logistics, operations, and finance.
- Prepare and deliver high‑impact executive briefs to O‑6/GS‑15/SES/General Officer audiences.
- Drive alignment of operational needs, resourcing, and acquisition execution.
- Education:
Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or related technical field - Experience:
15+ years of applicable DoD experience
- Master's Degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or related technical field
