Onsite in Huntsville, AL
We are seeking a Data Scientist to support advanced scientific research efforts through data processing and analysis of large-scale atmospheric, meteorological, and climate data sets from satellites, radar, sensors, and numerical models at atmospheric and radar-based data sets in a secure DoD environment.
Responsibilities- Analyze large atmospheric, meteorological, and climate data sets from satellites, radar, sensors, and numerical models
- Process and analyze geospatial and time-series data
- Collect, clean, and pre-process structured and unstructured data from multiple sources
- Apply statistical analysis, machine learning, and data mining techniques
- Translate complex analytical results into clear scientific insights using a variety of plotting packages
- U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law
Active Secret Clearance required - Bachelor’s degree or higher in a STEM-related field (e.g., Data Science, Physics, Atmospheric Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering)
- 5+ years of relevant data science or scientific data analysis experience
- Technical
Skills:- Strong proficiency in Python (Num Py, Pandas, Sci Py, xarray, Anaconda)
- Experience working in Linux environments
- Strong foundation in statistics and probability
- Experience applying statistical techniques to large datasets
- Experience with data visualization tools and scientific plotting libraries
- Experience in atmospheric sciences, particularly in radar applications
- Experience with radar systems or radar data analysis
- Experience with GPU programming (e.g., CUDA or parallel computing frameworks)
Full-Time position with an Employee-Owned company offering a comprehensive benefits package:

Estimated Salary Range: $100,000 - $140,000 (Based on factors such as Government labor categories (LCATs) education, experience, geographic location, etc.)
