Job Description
: RSi is looking to fill a Water Treatment Technician position to support our NASA customer. The Water Treatment Technician operates and maintains wastewater treatment systems to ensure regulatory compliance and proper facility operations.
- Managing industrial wastewater treatment systems & processes (monitoring, operation, and maintaining)
- Performing maintenance and repair on industrial wastewater treatment equipment
- Conducting routine inspections and assessments of industrial wastewater treatment facilities
- Deionized water operations
- Water treatment
- Maintain records, logs, and reports to meet environmental regulations and safety/operational requirements
- Respond to alarms, spills, and system malfunctions; initiate corrective actions
- Ensure work complies with environmental safety and hazardous materials handling standards
In general, the work of the Water Treatment Technician requires rounded training and experience in the operation and maintenance of industrial water and wastewater treatment systems, usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience.
Work EnvironmentIndoor and outdoor working environments. May include test areas, test stands, laboratories, chambers, machine shops, cold and hot weather environments, heights, and confined spaces.
Physical Requirements (with or without reasonable accommodation)- Standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and working in awkward positions to access work areas
- The use of hand and power tools and equipment associated with the position
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment weighing up to 40 pounds
- Wear and properly use required PPE for all assigned tasks
- Knowledge of wastewater treatment processes
- Ability to operate lab equipment and interpret test results
- Familiarity with EPA/NPDES permit standards and reporting requirements
Must meet eligibility for a Public Trust background investigation for government issues credentials and IT access/applicants must be able to pass a security background check per Redstone Arsenal/MSFC requirements.
