PPG Aerospace is now hiring an Aerospace Product Design Engineer! As the Design Engineer
, you will be accountable for the engineering design support of new and existing Aerospace Transparencies products throughout the world. You will provide product testing and product performance evaluations to assure that products and transparency programs will profitably meet performance expectations defined by the customer, regulatory agencies and Aerospace Products, Transparencies.

• Technical responsibilities include providing support to Huntsville, Sylmar and Ampa Space manufacturing facilities and all related products through the effective use of engineering skills and experience in structural design and analysis, electrical design, product testing, and product documentation.
• Responsible for technical communications within PPG, as well as to customers and to governmental regulatory agencies and authorities by means of engineering test reports, presentations, white papers, etc., in support of all new and existing products.
• Interaction with customers, sales, product support engineering, program management, manufacturing, quality assurance, GTC, other PPG manufacturing facilities and possibly regulatory agencies is required.
• Provide continuous improvement for the department’s environmental, health and safety, quality and value performance to insure an injury free work place, 100% compliance to customer satisfaction while meeting plant profitability objectives.
• Participate on safety, quality and value improvement teams, be responsible to attend and contribute to several ongoing activities such as manufacturing planning, budget preparation and departmental IT planning.
• Will actively participate in and the PPG New Product Introduction (NPI) process during Technical Reviews and Management Gate Reviews (including New Program Selection Meeting).
• Remain technically aware of industry trends, government regulations, customer requirements and PPG Aerospace Transparency’s manufacturing process requirements in order to personally contribute suggestions and recommendations.

• 5+ years’ experience in the Aerospace industry.
• Minimum Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related Engineering field required.
• Must be proficient in both 3D and 2D CAD, Solid Works and AutoCAD preferred.
• Experience with Aerospace structural design and analysis, including knowledge of finite element method.
• Experience providing technical support within a manufacturing facility.
• Strong ability to support multiple projects simultaneously.
• Product data management (PDM) experience is a plus.
• Must possess strong communication and collaboration skills.
