System Safety / Human System Integration (HSI) Department ensures our products Safety and Human Factors disciplines are incorporated into all our engineering and program execution to provide for our customers critical needs.

Huntsville, AL
- Lead one or more MIL-STD-882E compliant system safety programs
- Perform MIL-STD-882E System Safety Program tasks and analyses, or customer’s approved equivalent
- Coordinate with customer safety representatives to gain safety approval from appropriate Safety Review Board authorities
- Work across all integrated product teams and lines to properly eliminate hazards or provide effective controls.
- Collaborate with Program Management and government approval authorities from program startup through production to demilitarization and disposal backgrounds
- Perform System Safety Program, Hazard analyses or Design analyses
- Brief safety of the program at technical reviews and as part of the safety approval process
- Interpret system requirements, customer specifications and military standards
- Prepare internal and customer reports describing various analyses relevant to the System Safety program
- Collaborate across multiple disciplines to gain a full understanding of product architecture and design
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience.
- Experience with System Safety Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software or Firmware Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent Safety Engineering.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- Experience in weapon combat systems, specifically missile system safety experience
- Experience with DoD System Safety Programs
- Experience with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) and Proposal Development
- A Master’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).

The salary range for this role is $86,800 - $165,200 USD. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
